The Fountain of Wisdom The mem, the letter of the "water" (maim), symbolizes the source of the Divine Wisdom of the Torah.

Just as the waters of a material source (spring), ascend from their unknown subterranean origin, (the secret of the abyss in the story of Creation) to reveal itself on earth, so also the source of wisdom expresses the power to flow from Its superconscious origin. In the terminology of Kabbalah, this flow is from keter ("crown") to jojma ("wisdom").

This stream is symbolized in Proverbs as "the flowing stream, the fountain of wisdom".

In particular, we were taught that there are thirteen channels of flow, from their superconscious origin to the beginning of consciousness.

These channels correspond to the Thirteen Attributes of Mercy revealed at Mount Sinai, as well as to the thirteen principles of exegesis (interpretation) of the Torah, the (supra-rational) logic of the Torah.

The mem is the thirteenth letter of the alef-bet. In Kabbalah, we are taught that "thirteen mem", as it were, appear in the "primordial air", the "outer space" in which the letter lamed rises.

Each attribute of mercy is in fact a contraction of a relatively infinite wisdom, located at the level of supraconsciousness ("waters that have no end"), to channel and reveal a flash of wisdom on the "screen" of consciousness.

Conscious wisdom draws its focus of understanding, primarily from that attribute of mercy, which the Torah refers to as "the guardian benevolence for thousands of generations," the initials of these words in Hebrew, form the word "stream," " The first word in the phrase quoted above: "the flowing stream, the fountain of wisdom." In atbash, mem is transformed into iud, the point of wisdom or revealed understanding, the drop of water that emerges from the source of mem.

The word "one" (ejad) and "love" (ahavá) are both equivalent to thirteen, the secret of the letter mem.

The closed final mem, the origin of the source of wisdom connected and included within its subterranean super-conscious origin, corresponds to the secret of ejad, "one."

The open mem, from which emerges the point (iud) of the conscious understanding, is the first manifestation of love (that is, the desire to cling to another) in the soul.

The connection between the two sources of the mem, the "closed" and the "open" source, is realized through the power of the Thirteen Divine Attributes of Mercy.

This is the secret of the Essential Name of Gd: Havaia - the "Name of Mercy".

The numerical value of the name Havaia is 26 = 2 times 13, the union of "one" and "love", the power to attract the consciousness, the wisdom of the Torah.

SHAPE The open mem - a square with a small opening in its lower left corner.

La Fuente de la Sabiduría

La mem, la letra del "agua" (maim), simboliza la fuente de la Sabiduría Divina de la Torá.

Así como las aguas de una fuente material, (manantial), ascienden desde su desconocido origen subterráneo, (el secreto del abismo en el relato de la Creación) para revelarse sobre la tierra, también la fuente de la sabiduría expresa el poder de fluir desde su origen supraconciente.

En la terminología de la cabalá, este flujo es desde keter("corona") hacia jojmá ("sabiduría").

Esta corriente es simbolizada en Proverbios como "la corriente que fluye, la fuente de la sabiduría".

En particular, se nos enseñó que hay trece canales de flujo, desde su origen supraconciente hasta el comienzo de la conciencia. Estos canales corresponden a los Trece Atributos de Misericordia revelados en el Monte Sinaí, como también a los trece principios de exégesis (interpretación) de la Torá, la (supraracional) "lógica de la Torá.

La mem es la decimotercera letra del alef-bet.

En la cabalá, se nos enseña que "trece mem", como si fuera, aparecen en el "aire primordial", el "espacio exterior" en el que la letra lamed se eleva.

Cada atributo de misericordia es de hecho una contracción de una relativamente Infinita sabiduría, ubicada a nivel de la supraconciencia ("aguas que no tienen fin"), para canalizar y revelar un destello de sabiduría en la "pantalla" de la conciencia.

La sabiduría conciente atrae su foco de comprensión, primariamente desde ese atributo de misericordia, sobre el que se refiere la Torá como "El guarda benevolencia por miles de generaciones", las iniciales de estas palabras en hebreo, forman la palabra "corriente", "la primera palabra en la frase citada anteriormente: "la corriente que fluye, la fuente de la sabiduría".

En atbash, mem se transforma en iud, el punto de sabiduría o comprensión revelada, la gota de agua que emerge de la fuente de la mem.

Las palabra "uno" (ejad) y "amor" (ahavá), equivalen ambas a trece, el secreto de la letra mem.

La mem final cerrada, el origen de la fuente de la sabiduría conectada e incluida dentro de su subterráneo origen supraconciente, corresponde al secreto de ejad, "uno".

La mem abierta, de la que surge el punto (iud) del entendimiento conciente, es la primera manifestación de amor (es decir, el deseo de aferrarse a otro) en el alma.

La conección entre las dos fuentes de la mem, la fuente "cerrada" y la "abierta", se realiza a través del poder de los Trece Atributos Divinos de Misericordia.

Este es el secreto del Nombre Esencial de Di-s: Havaiá - el "Nombre de Misericordia".
